What's Inside

Six deliverables. One verdict.

The audit isn't a generic checklist. It's a structured, evidence-backed diagnostic — built on the same scoring methodology we use inside every Tier 2 and Tier 3 engagement.

01

6 To Fix Scorecard

Dual-criterion scoring across all six strategy areas: Activity Score (0–10) and Documented Strategy state. Produces your Marketing Maturity score (out of 60) and Documented Strategy Coverage (out of 6).

Outputs: Scorecard, area-by-area scoring narrative
02

Gap Analysis

For each area, what's working, what's stale, and what's missing entirely. Names the highest-leverage gap in each area — the one piece of work that moves the most value if you fix it first.

Outputs: Per-area gap narratives, top-gap summary
03

Value Driver Assessment

The diligence view. Each of the six value drivers — Brand Equity, Customer Economics, Category Position, Demand Infrastructure, Revenue Quality, Transferable System — scored against peer benchmarks.

Outputs: 6-driver scorecard with peer comparison
04

Systems Readiness Assessment

How transferable is your marketing function today? Scored on four dimensions: documented, repeatable, measurable, and owner-independent. The number a buyer cares about most.

Outputs: Systems Maturity score (out of 20)
05

AI-Readiness Assessment

How much of your marketing work could be AI-executed under a properly implemented engagement — and what that's worth in avoided labor cost. Real numbers, not vendor talk.

Outputs: AI-executable %, net annual benefit estimate
06

Prioritized 90-Day Roadmap

Eight to twelve specific work items, prioritized by value impact, execution difficulty, and whether they're best handled by humans, AI, or both. The first 90 days of work, sequenced.

Outputs: Roadmap, sequencing rationale, tier recommendation
The Process

Two to three weeks, three phases.

Week 1 · Days 1–5

Discovery & Evidence

Kickoff call. Interviews with you and your team. Review of marketing assets, channel data, and competitive set. Ben's research arm engages on ICP and channel benchmarks.

Week 2 · Days 6–10

Scoring & Writing

Every area scored against the dual-criterion rubric. Gap narratives drafted. Value drivers benchmarked. 90-day roadmap sequenced. Audit document written and reviewed.

Day 14 · Live Readout

The Readout

90-minute live walkthrough with you (and any team members you want present). Documents delivered. Tier 2/3 path recommendation made — or honest "self-execute" guidance.

The Output

An interactive dashboard. Plus the underlying documents.

Every audit ships with a live, web-based dashboard that scores your business across all six areas and presents the roadmap interactively. Drill down into any area to see the per-element evidence behind the score.

You also get the full audit document — every score narrative, every gap statement, every roadmap item — as a portable PDF you can share with your leadership team, board, or successor.

The truth in writing. The documented version of where your marketing actually stands.

Who It's For

The Audit fits some owners perfectly. Not all.

You're a fit if

  • You own a $1M–$10M business and marketing has become a question you can't honestly answer
  • You're considering a sale, succession, or step-back within 5 years — and want to know what marketing needs to look like first
  • You've worked with agencies that delivered activity but not strategy, and you're done with that pattern
  • You can articulate your differentiation clearly in conversation but it isn't written down anywhere
  • You're weighing whether to hire in-house marketing leadership — and want a third-party diagnostic first

You're not a fit if

  • You want marketing tactics, not marketing strategy
  • You're under $1M in revenue and not yet ready for a strategic function
  • You're looking for someone to just run your ads
  • You're not willing to invest in documenting what's currently undocumented
Questions

What to expect.

The audit answers most owner questions on its own. These are the ones we hear before the engagement starts.

  • Why $7,500 for a 2–3 week engagement?

It's a productized fixed fee, not an hourly bill. The audit follows the same six-area methodology every time, with AI-leveraged research and analysis doing the work that would otherwise drive cost up. You get the same depth as a $25K traditional consulting audit for a fifth of the cost — because we built the system to run that way.

  • What if I don't want to go to Tier 2 or Tier 3 after?

Then you don't. The audit is a complete standalone deliverable. About 30% of audit clients self-execute against the roadmap; the rest progress to Tier 2 or Tier 3. The recommendation in the readout is honest, not sales-driven — if self-execute is the right call, we say so.

  • How much of my team's time does the audit take?

About 4–6 hours from you (kickoff, interview, readout) and 1–2 hours each from any team members we interview (typically a sales lead and an ops lead). We do the heavy lift.

  • Will the audit recommend specific vendors or platforms?

Yes — where relevant. The AI-Readiness Assessment in particular often produces specific tool recommendations (CRM platforms, content-production stacks, dashboard infrastructure). We have no referral relationships with any vendor; recommendations are based purely on fit.

  • Can I share the audit with my leadership team or board?

Yes. The deliverables are designed for that. Many audit clients use the audit document directly in board meetings, leadership offsites, or — for owners considering a sale — early conversations with their investment banker or advisor.
